Coach at the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School, Adelvin Phillip, has coded the first ever relay festival, hosted by his school, as a great success.
The event was held at the MONDO track on Friday 18th January and involved all of the Primary schools on Nevis.
It all started with an opening ceremony which included remarks by Headmistress Pemberton, who noted that it was not a competition, but a Child Friendly event and encouraged the students to seek to make new friends, during the course of the event.
Also addressing the gathering, was Principal Education Officer, Miss Zahnela Claxton who emphasized that the key word for the day was FUN.
She officially declared the meet open.
The children engaged in a number of relay events and all of the athletes were due to be awarded medals.
