BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — Officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have recovered a firearm and ammunition during a vehicle stop and search conducted along the Island Main Road in Conaree.
According to police reports, the operation took place on March 4, 2026, after officers stopped a vehicle on suspicion that its occupants owned controlled drugs, firearms, or ammunition. The vehicle was owned and driven by Renelle Edwards, who was accompanied by Ricardo Thomas. Both men are residents of Tabernacle.
During the search, officers reportedly discovered one Taurus pistol along with fifty (50) matching rounds of ammunition.
The scene was processed by the Police Crime Scene Unit, and the firearm, ammunition, and vehicle were taken into police custody. Both men were subsequently arrested.
On March 6, 2026, Edwards and Thomas were formally charged at the Basseterre Police Station with the offences of possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has indicated that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
