The Honorable Janice Daniel Hodge hosted a fishing tournament at Newcastle Bay on Monday, April 21st, which was Easter Monday.
A good-sized crowd gathered for the event, where several fishermen competed and returned with their prized catches around 3:30 PM. The grand prize was awarded to the fisherman who caught the most fish, with a cash prize of $2,000. The second-place winner received $1,500, and the third-place winner got $1,000. Additionally, there was a bonus prize of $500 for the individual who caught the largest fish.
The event featured music, plenty of food and drinks, and fun activities such as tug-of-war and a bun-eating competition. This marked the seventh annual fishing tournament.
