Football Newtown Ladies Drub Queen City Ladies

The final preliminary match in the ladies’ football tournament, hosted by the SKNFA, was held at the Nevis Athletic Stadium, on the evening of Saturday 11th November.

Home team Queen City ladies engaged the Newtown ladies team.

The Newtown ladies dominated the encounter, with Katelyn and Kashanta both scoring impressive hat tricks.

One free kick off the boot of Katelyn, was particularly stunning, as the ball left her boot and screamed into the corner of the net.

The score line at the final whistle was an indication of the one-sided nature of the game:

The other scheduled game between Bath United ladies and Cayon ladies was not played, as the Cayon team was a no-show.

Coach Isaac of the Newtown team, in a post-match interview, indicated that his team has topped the preliminary stage of the competition and will be ahead at the end of the upcoming final four.

Coach Alex Claxton of Bath United, was happy for the easy points on the night, even as he noted that his team did not quite make the final four cut.

He stated that his team included several second formers and a few primary school students so it was a work in progress and all about development.

Coach Curtis Morton Jr of the Queen City team, stated that the results do not affect the fact that his team is already in the final four and praised his girls for their efforts, as most of them just started playing football, competitively, earlier this year.

He expects to create even one upset, during the final four stages.

His team will journey to St. Kitts to face off with the Old Road ladies, in the first match of the final four, today-Tuesday 14th November.
