Former Premier Parry pays tribute to Nurse Chapman

Charlestown, Nevis (Wednesday, May 1st 2013)-Former Premier, the Hon. Joseph Parry has paid tribute to the late Anita Chapman Matthews, Born in Bricklyn, Nevis on December 30, 1917, Died April 18, 2013 in Toronto, Canada.

Nurse Anita Chapman started her career in Nevis. In 1963 at the age of 45 she immigrated to Canada where she resumed her profession. Later, she married Alexander Matthew also of Nevis. She had an illustrious career and was the recipient of many awards including the Friends of Labour Community Service Award. She also served with distinction in her Seventh Day Adventist Church community in Toronto, Canada.

“It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of Nurse Anita Chapman Mathews formerly of Bricklyn then Cotton Ground, She and her daughter Ena Paul are long time friends of my family. So, on behalf of my Family and the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), I extend heartfelt sympathy to all who knew and loved her,” said the Former Premier.
