Four in Police Custody in relation to Yearwood Robbery

Unconfirmed reports reaching this media house indicate that four young men are in the custody of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force in relation to the armed robbery of business man John Yearwood at his Jones Estate home earlier today, Thursday, November 8, 2018.

It was reported that during the robbery, one perpetrator was shot. Acting on that tip, the Police boarded the Sea Bridge Ferry and apprehended the four men, as they were trying to journey to St. Kitts.

The men were traveling in two different vehicles. Both vehicles are currently impounded by police.

Three of the men are currently at the Charlestown Police Station, while the injured assailant is warded at the Alexandra Hospital.

Yearwood and his wife were robbed at about 1:45 a.m. today Thursday, November 8, 2018. Reports are that he was shot in the thigh and is currently in stable condition at the Alexandra Hospital.

It is reported that the perpetrators took cash and Yearwood’s licensed firearm in the robbery, along with his blue pick-up truck PA 5249.

Police investigations are continuing.
