(PINNEYS BEACH, Four Seasons, September 11, 2013)- Four Seasons Resort enlisted its support on Tuesday for the 5th Pink Lily Cancer Care walkathon by handing over a cheque donation to the charity’s Client Support Coordinator, Tracy Parris.
The cheque was presented to Ms Parris by Resort Manager, Diego Stembert, yesterday at Four Seasons.
Stembert said ”what Pink Lily has been doing for the past five years is something exceptional. I am glad we can help them. He further said, A part of the resort’s duties is not only to welcome guests but also to be able to help the local community.
Ms Parris expressed gratitude and said the donation would facilitate the work Pink Lily is doing: “I would like to say with a happy heart, thank you to Four Seasons for the donation. The donation helps us to continue helping other people.”
The Four Seasons Resort Manager said apart from making a monetary donation, the hotel staff would participate at the walkathon scheduled to be held on Saturday October 19.
“Every time we participate in any event, we make sure the staff is fully aware and obviously give them the opportunity to be part of it. For us getting the staff involved in anything that is helping the local community is extraordinarily important. We will make sure everybody is aware,” Stembert said.
According to a press statement circulated by the Founder and CEO, Pink Lily Cancer Care, Mrs Lea Parris-Cambridge, the proceeds accrued from the 5th anniversary walkathon will go towards establishing a cancer centre.
A cancer support centre in Nevis, said the statement, will provide information, education, support and care for cancer suffers and their families and the general public in the federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
