The annual High schools cricket championship, sponsored by Giant Malt, got on the way on Tuesday 7th March.
The Gingerland Secondary school engaged their counterparts from the Charlestown Secondary school, at the Villa grounds.
GSS won the toss and batted first and were bundled out for 76 in 15.4 overs. Jelani Manners top scored with 32. Tiwan Prentice scored 12.
For CSS, Vickram Chanand got 3 wickets for 3 runs; Bodgenarine Sharma 3 for 11 and Keon Pemberton 2 wickets.
CSS knocked off the runs in just 8 overs-77 for 1: Justin Amurdan 37*; Trevon Jeffers 27 and Carlon Tuckett 10*
Tiwan Prentice got the lone wicket for the GSS team.
CSS won by 9 wickets.
