Nevis — The Department of Gender Affairs has officially launched the Gingerland Secondary School Chapter of the Sisters Leading Ambitious Youths (SLAY) Girls Mentorship Programme – Nevis, marking an important step in creating supportive spaces where young women can develop their leadership potential, build confidence, and pursue their aspirations.
The launch brings together young women from across Nevis in a programme designed to encourage them to dream boldly, recognise their potential, and step confidently into their greatness.
A total of 14 girls have officially joined the SLAY Mentorship Programme, including 11 students from Gingerland Secondary School and three students from Charlestown Secondary School.
The programme will provide participants with opportunities to learn, grow, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful relationships with mentors and their peers. Through mentorship and engagement, the initiative seeks to empower young women to recognise their strengths and become positive influences within their schools, families, and communities.
The launch of the Gingerland Secondary School chapter represents another significant milestone in the continued development of the SLAY programme on Nevis. It reflects a commitment to investing in young women and creating opportunities that support their personal development, leadership, and future success.
As the 14 participants begin this journey, the Department of Gender Affairs looks forward to walking alongside them as they learn, grow, lead, and inspire.
