It was a meet that will be much talked about for weeks to come. The Charlestown Secondary School hosted its annual sports meet on Wednesday 12th March at the ET Willet Park, under the distinguished patronage of former super athlete, Mrs. Lydia Jacobs-Pemberton.
Mrs. Pemberton who deemed it an honour to be so recognized had an encouraging word for budding athletes.: ‘You may not be the top athlete but give it your all and there is much to be achieved,’ she stated.
Almost every single race generated quite a bit of interest, as all afternoon, the huge crowd was thoroughly entertained by the much anticipated match-ups.
These match ups included but were not limited to: Tah-J Liburd versus C’Jae Farrell; Chloe Williams versus Renika Daniel and Cileen Hendrickson versus young Perkins.
