Charlestown-Nevis- Health Educator on Nevis, Miss Shevanee Nisbett, has revealed that the Health Promotion Unit on the island, will be hosting and coordinating a health screening opportunity for all interested persons, on Thursday 7th April, officially celebrated worldwide as WORLD HEALTH DAY.

The Health Promotion Unit in collaboration with the Community Health division, will be conducting the Health Screening at the Memorial Square in Charlestown from 8:30 am to 1 pm. The activity this year will be held under the theme: “Beat Diabetes.”

The screening will include blood glucose and blood pressure checks, as well as body mass index (BMI) calculations. The screening is free and the General Public is invited.

Persons who are interested in doing blood glucose checks are kindly advised to fast from or before 12am that day (eat nothing after 12am in order to show a true picture of their blood glucose level).
Miss Nisbett is urging everyone, as far as possible, to utilize the opportunity to check on their health status.
