Friday, October 31, 2014 was a significant day for the students at the Gingerland Secondary and Charlestown Secondary Schools.

That was when the inter High school Championship between the two schools was officially started.

A brief ceremony was held at the Old Manor court which was chaired by Sports Coordinator, Mr. Carl Tuckett. The invocation was delivered by Pastor Liburd and the featured speaker was the Principal Education Officer, Mrs. Palsy Wilkin.

In her address she noted that the Education and Sports Departments continue to collaborate on activities for the students towards their holistic development.
She wished the teams well as they tested their skills in Basketball and Netball.

The first match was a Netball encounter between the two schools and CSS won that game with a score line of 9 goals to 3.

In the more hyped Basketball encounter, CSS was again the winner with a score line of 53 to 12.

Matches will continue on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Grell Hull- Stevens Netball Complex.
