Indian Castle Fisher Folk Annual Tournament Set For Monday

President of the Indian Castle Fisher Folk Association, Mackie Moore, confirmed on Thursday that the 6th annual Fishing tournament, hosted by the club, is all set and ready for Monday  6th May.
Boat owners can still register, up to the day of the event. Prior to Monday, registration can be completed at the Gas station located at Church Ground. The registration fee is $150.00 and THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
Boats can push out any time AFTER 5 am on the morning of the tournament and must return before 4 pm. Any breach of time requirements will result in disqualification.
The theme for the day is: Turning a bite into a catch was ’TURNING A BITE INTO A CATCH.’
Boats will be allowed to push out at a landing site nearest theme but all must complete the course at the Indian Castle area.
Categories to be judged include:
Most catch-$1,000.00
Largest fish
Most pounds
The day will be filled with varying forms of entertainment.
There will be music; food and drink on sale and a bouncing castle for the children
Add to that some modelling by some of Nevis’ finest young ladies.
Moore is inviting the general public to come out in their numbers and support the fishermen.
‘It’s their day. We want them to be the ones in focus and they will also be able to sell their catch and all the proceeds will go to them,’ stated Moore.
