Community Builder and Founder: Island Girls Rock
CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS — Island Girls Rock! has announced the fourth session in its ongoing Summer Creative Series, titled Glass Works, highlighting the organization’s core commitment to intergenerational mentorship and sustainable community building.
Founded with a intentional mission to connect and empower women and girls across generations, Island Girls Rock! continues to focus on long-term sustainability by developing its younger team members to take active leadership roles within the organization.

The upcoming Glass Works workshop will be facilitated by Brianné Chapman, one of the organization’s Youth Engagement Coordinators and in-house artist. Sitting directly at the intersection of the group’s sustainability and creativity pillars, the session will teach participants how to upcycle discarded glass into functional, ocean-inspired art.

“When I founded Island Girls Rock!, I was deeply intentional about building an intergenerational community, and that commitment applies just as much to our core team as it does to our members,” said the founder of Island Girls Rock!. “Our goal has always been to build something that lasts, which means nurturing our younger team members so they can naturally take the baton and lead the organization forward. Watching our younger leaders step forward to share their brilliance with the community really shows the power of our intergenerational model.”
The workshop is open to young girls (ages 9 and older) and women in Nevis who are interested in a morning of creative expression, environmental consciousness, and community connection.
