We’re proud to share that two exceptional young artists from the Island Girls Rock community — Vanel Bailey (Nevis), part of the Bloom Where You’re Planted art cohort, and Sasha Herbert (St. Kitts), a Bloom peer mentor, have been selected to attend the CARIFESTA XV Youth Village, taking place in Barbados from August 22–31, 2025.
This opportunity has been made possible through the Caribbean Development Bank’s Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF), with the generous support and advocacy of Malene A. Joseph, Fund Coordinator, CIIF.
Both @sashatheartist and @v.bai_ are practising visual artists whose work spans fine art, illustration, digital media, and conceptual exploration through form and space. While Sasha’s creative voice shines through her bold visual storytelling and digital artistry, Vanel brings an architectural lens to her work — weaving design thinking with cultural memory and community intention.
Together, they represent the fearless, thoughtful, and deeply rooted spirit of Caribbean girlhood and creative leadership that Island Girls Rock continues to nurture. We are so proud and excited for all they will experience and contribute during this regional gathering of youth creatives.
