It was a very meaningful gesture by the Calypso Cricket club and members of the Cotton Ground community, as they hosted a fund raiser on Sunday 5th May, at the Cotton Ground Play field, in aid of ailing former ace cricketer, Livingstone JAHBADAR Lawrence.
On the afternoon of Thursday 9th May, the Calypso Cricket club, formally presented Jahbadar with a cheque valued $6,200.00.
Present in making the presentation were Derrick Parry, Frank Monzac and JAH Browne.
It was explained that the money was mainly raised during the fund raiser, coupled with donations from a number of individuals.
The normally verbose Livingstone Lawrence, who is currently having difficulty with his speech, managed to say a simple: ‘Thanks.’
