(ST. JAMES PARISH, NEVIS) – It was announced on Thursday, May 9, 2013 that Mr. Jamal ‘Juicy Designs’ Jeffers is the elected patron for St. James Parish Festival, Winfes 2013.
Mr. Jeffers who hails from Brick Kiln Village is the patron for the Winfes festival that is now in its 7th year.
Mr. Kevin Wilkin, one of the organizers of the festival, stated that even though Mr. Jeffers is not a musical icon or has not played mass over the years; he is instrumental in the staging of the Winfes over the years.
According to Wilkin, Mr. Jeffers had given his talents for the past seven years, unselfishly without a dime and whatever task he was asked to handle, he did so willing without argument.
Jeffers stated that he was grateful for the gesture. He expressed that he was in shocked that he was chosen to be the patron. He said that would take this moment and considered it a mile stone, since he never thought he would be honored in St. James Winfes.
Jeffers thanked all who made it possible.
Winfes is slated to begin on Thursday, May 16 and concludes on Whit Monday, May 20, 2013. Wilkin said the event has grown significantly from when it first started in 2007. He indicated that the participation of the general public has increased tremendously.
The organizers of this festival promises a weekend full of fun and excitement.
