On Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, before a packed crowd at the ET Willet Park, the Joycelyn Liburd Primary School (JLPS) edged out the Ivor Walters Primary School (IWPS) with a narrow 1–0 victory, earning their spot in the grand finals of the National Bank Primary Schools’ Football Tournament.
JLPS entered the match unbeaten and immediately applied sustained pressure on the IWPS defence. Despite their dominance, the first half ended goalless as both teams held firm.
The intensity increased in the second half, with both sides battling fiercely for the opening goal. A defensive lapse by IWPS eventually proved costly, allowing a JLPS striker to beat the goalkeeper to the ball and slot it neatly into the back of the net.
At the final whistle, the scoreline stood JLPS 1 – IWPS 0, sealing JLPS’s place in the championship match.
The grand finals are set for Sunday, November 9th, also at ET Willet Park.
