JLPS Silences CPS

According to PUCK of the Charlestown Primary School, this was supposed to be a mismatch.
This, as his school, the Charlestown Primary, came up against the Joycelyn Liburd Primary School, at the ET Willet Park, on Friday 28th June.
As a matter of fact, PUCK’s favourite quiz for the early part of the afternoon was: ‘Which school has made the lowest total in the tournament so far?’
Of course he was making subtle reference to the fact that the St. Thomas’ Primary School had previously bowled out the Jocelyn Liburd team for a mere 14 runs.
But cricket is a funny old game and every day could be so different!
The CPS team won the toss and batted but were bundled out in just 10.2 overs for only 50 runs.
Carlon Ferdinand, turned the game on its head with a hat trick and went on to collect a fiver in the process.
PUCK confidently stated however, that his team had made 30 runs too many.
The Joycelyn Liburd team lost all of 6 wickets in the run chase, as the game seesawed.
It certainly was not a game for the weak hearted.
They however, managed to cross the line in the 12th over and PUCK went silent, as the JLPS team celebrated in grand style
Summarized scores:
CPS 50 all out in 10.2 overs:
Jalique Tyson 16;
Tesean Newton 12
Carlon Ferdinand 5 for 15 (including a hat trick);
Carlton Pluck 2 for 23

JLPS 52 for 6 in 11.3 overs:
Carlton Pluck 18
Mikey Seegolam 2 for 16
JLPS winning by 4 wickets
