Julia Leader Celebrates 90

Charlestown –Nevis-It almost seemed like a presidential state visit, as Ms. Julia Leader, stepped onto the Charlestown pier on Monday 24th June, accompanied by an entourage of approximately 80 family members.
She was officially met by Minister of Community Development, Hon. Eric Evelyn, who warmly welcomed her and her entourage to Nevis.
One of her sons, Pastor Charles Leader, noted that apart from the fact that he got married to a Nevisian (Ermine Browne-Leader) and the fact that he commenced his pastoral career in Nevis, the family has roots in Rawlins Village.
He stated that his mother celebrated her 90th birthday on Sunday 16th June and the close knit family, decided to honour her by having a week of activities.
One of those activities included the visit to Nevis, which also involved a full island tour.
When Minister Evelyn quizzed the celebrant about how it feels to be 90, the very alert Ms. Leader said that it feels ‘wonderful’ and thanked God for his goodness towards her.
‘I did not expect to live to see forty,’ she said with a chuckle.
