BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – Private Cordel Lake of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force was discharged from the Force on Thursday, 16th July, 2026. Stating that Lake’s “Service No Longer Required,” the Defence Force said the “dishonourable discharge follows a serious incident that occurred on Monday, 30th March 2026.” Details of the incident were not cited.

“In accordance with military law and disciplinary protocols, a thorough investigation was conducted. Private Lake was subsequently charged and tried under the St. Christopher and Nevis Defence Force Act for “Conduct Prejudicial to Military Discipline and Disgraceful Conduct,” a SKNDF statement said. Lake was “dishonourably discharged following a summary trial based on the overwhelming evidence.”

With two ranks with their backs turned, Lake walked out of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force in civilian clothes.
