LEEWARDS BOWLED OUT ON DAY ONE VERSUS JAMAICA

In a very important fixture in the ongoing regional four day Cricket tournament, the Leewards Hurricanes faced off against the Jamaica Scorpions on Thursday 15th December, at Warner Park in St.Kitts.

Leewards skipper, Kieran Powell, won the toss and immediately elected to bat first.

He started aggressively hitting four boundadries in his 18, when first ball up from Damian Jacobs, he swept at it and looked up in disbelief to see the raised finger of the umpire.

He was followed quickly by Montcin Hodge, caught at slip and then Kacey Carty slipped mid pitch, attempting a sharp run and was easily run out. They were 24 for 3 at that stage.

However, Anguillans Chesney Hughes and Jahmar Hamilton, teamed up in a positive partnership, which helped to settle the Leeward’s nerves.

Tonito Willet in his first game for the season, could muster only 1 and the Leewards got to an eventual 243 all out.

Jamaica started fairly positively in their response and at the end of day, were placed on 33 for no loss
