Gingerland, Nevis (Nevispages.com) – The sad news has been received of the passing of Lewis ‘Roper’ Elliott of Pond Hill, Gingerland.
The former contractor passed away at the Alexandra Hospital on the morning Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
Just over two weeks ago, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, he celebrated with his family and friends the significant milestone of 99 years. At his birthday ceremony, many, including Minister of Social Development, Hon. Eric Evelyn opined that based on his strength and vigour, he should be celebrating the even more significant century milestone, in a year’s time. But that was not to be.
Daughter Angelica Elliott indicated that her dad was indeed hospitalized over the weekend and had moments when he appeared to be his old self and when she left him on Tuesday night, he appeared in a lively mood. She was therefore taken aback when she got word of his passing earlier today.
