On Friday, 24th October, the Social Services Seniors Division on Nevis hosted a vibrant and entertaining Seniors Sports Meet at the ET Willet Park, held under the theme “Creativity in Galore.”

Three teams competed for top honours — Blue House, Pink House, and Lilac House — in a day filled with fun, laughter, and friendly rivalry.

The distinguished patron of the day was 98-year-old Ms. Ursula Rogers, who not only attended but also participated in several events — even capturing a gold medal in one of them, to the delight of the crowd.

Festivities began with an energetic march-past, led by Hon. Jahnel Nisbett, setting the tone for an afternoon of spirited competition.

The seniors enthusiastically took part in events such as Hit the Ball, Lime and Spoon, 30-Metre Dash, Watermelon Eating Race, Carrying Water Race, Carrying Wood on Head, Puzzle Race, and Thread the Needle, among others.

After an exciting day of activity, the final scores were:

Lilac House – 173 points

Blue House – 168 points

Pink House – 142 points

With their impressive performance, Lilac House proudly claimed championship honours for the day.
