(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The usual night-time tranquility in Jessup’s Village was shattered last evening Thursday, March 21, 2013 when a local businessman was robbed at gun point.

This media house has learnt that sometime after 8:00 p.m. moments before fireworks lit up the skies at the Four Seasons Resort, police officers of the Cotton Ground Police Station responded to a robbery at the Dayton Gas Station in Jessup’s Village, owned by former Cabinet Secretary to the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), Mr. Ashley Farrell.

It was reported that one masked gun man entered the business place, held the owner at gunpoint and demanded money from him. After the robbery, it is alleged that the robber ran up Jessup’s road to make his getaway and another was seen running across island’s main road in the direction of Cotton Ground.

It was also alleged that two men were seen sitting in the Jessup’s bus stop apparently waiting until a nearby shop, the Culturama Bar, closed to make their move.

Nevispages understands that the bandits made a successful escape with an undisclosed sum of money.

No one was reported injured in the robbery.

Investigations into the matter continue.
