Local Easter Camp Cricket

Kezron Archibald,

The Ministry of Education and Sports held its annual Easter cricket camp during the Easter vacation. According to the chief coach,

a cricketer from the Leeward Islands, the camp was successfully conducted at ET Willet Park.

Over 50 primary school students participated, where they learned the fundamentals of cricket. The camp covered everything from basic concepts such as gripping the bat and batting stance to more advanced skills like fielding, catching, batting, and bowling. Participants also engaged in simulation exercises and played a match.

Archibald noted that as a follow-up, coaches at various schools will continue to teach these concepts to the children in preparation for the much-anticipated Runako Morton Primary Schools’ Cricket Tournament, scheduled to take place toward the end of this term.
