BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 8, 2026 — Local hair braiders play a vital role in the tourism industry of St. Kitts and Nevis.

The St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA) views hair braiders as essential tourism service providers who enrich the visitor experience by offering guests—both cruise passengers and stayover visitors—a unique opportunity to connect with local culture and talent.

To support this key group, the SKTA Training Department recently hosted a practical training workshop for local hair braiders. Led by Training Manager Goldha Franks, the session enabled participants to enhance their practical skills while focusing on professional conduct, customer service, client engagement, and delivering high-quality experiences to visitors.

The SKTA noted that the session forms part of its ongoing commitment to developing tourism professionals across the island. The Authority extended its sincere thanks to all participating hair braiders for taking this important step in their professional development.
