After wrapping up the one-day series in preparation for the upcoming regional competition, the Leeward Islands cricketers began their two-day tournament on Wednesday, 29th October, with matches played across three venues in St. Kitts.
At the close of Day One, the following updates were reported:
Antigua & Barbuda vs Montserrat
Montserrat, batting first, reached 254 at lunch, led by a commanding 119 from Shawn Tuitt.
For Antigua and Barbuda, Ishmael Peters claimed 3 wickets, while Karima Gore took 2.
In reply, Antigua and Barbuda reached 120 without loss, with Tyrone Williams unbeaten on 71 and Kadeem Henry on 44.
St. Kitts vs Anguilla
St. Kitts were bowled out for 164, thanks to another brilliant knock of 108 by Mikyle Louis — his fourth consecutive century in the tournament.
For Anguilla, Jaidel Richardson starred with the ball, taking 6 for 66.
In response, Anguilla closed the day on 122 for 9, with Dion Williams top-scoring with 32.
Terence Warde led the St. Kitts bowling attack with 5 for 31, supported by Rasheed Eddy with 4 for 38.
At stumps, Anguilla trailed by 42 runs.
Nevis vs St. Maarten
St. Maarten were dismissed for 103, with Israel Morton scoring 36.
For Nevis, Onaje Amory bagged 5 for 52, Jaden Carmichael took 3 for 14, and Akadianto Willet chipped in with 2 for 12.
In reply, Nevis piled on 237 for 4, led by a superb 110 from Carlon Bowen-Tuckett, supported by Jamie Cornelius (61) and Shelton Forbes (31).
Ramraj was the pick of the bowlers for St. Maarten, taking 2 for 47.
At the end of Day One, Nevis led by 134 runs.
