MARIJUANA SEIZED DURING TODAY’S TARGETED OPERATIONS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 12, 2015 (RSCNPF): A large quantity of Marijuana was seized this morning (October 12) during an early morning execution of Search Warrants by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Special Services Unit (SSU) in the McKnight area.

The early morning operation was supported by the Anti-Narcotics Unit, the Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Services Unit.

The search of a property on Prickly Pear Alley resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of Marijuana, a black ski mask and a realistic toy handgun. Detained in connection with this find is Troy Francis who was present on the property. Additionally, a quantity of Marijuana was found during a another search on Fiennes Avenue at the residence of Ronrick Herbert. He was taken into police custody in relation to the find.

This is the second productive search in the McKnight area in recent weeks, on (September 28), searches netted one 40mm handgun with matching ammunition and a quantity of Marijuana.

“The continued search effort by our Officers is yielding results. We will continue to search both properties and persons, we will do what it takes to make our Federation safe,” said one member of the Special Services Unit. Another member added, “Days like these, gives me the encouragement to keep doing.”

ACP Queeley echoed that, “we urge anyone with information that can assist the police in our fight against crime, to call any Police Station in the Federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline at 1-800-8477 to share information,” the information is critical to keeping St. Kitts and Nevis safe, he stressed.
