Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 12, 2018 – A brother and sister waiting on transportation to take them to the J.N. France General Hospital Thursday night were attacked and robbed by two masked gunmen.
According to reports, the two were standing at the top of Cayon Street and Fiennes Avenue in Basseterre, when they were approached by the armed gunmen.
One grabbed the sister’s handbag which contained personal effects including a cell phone and identification cards. The other demanded money from the brother, who indicated he had no money on him.
The gunman took the brother’s cell phone before striking him in the head with the gun which opened up a large gash on the left side.
Both gunmen, who are unknown, ran away before a vehicle arrived and took the pair to the hospital where they were treated and discharged.
Police arrived at the hospital and statements were taken.
