Masters Cricket Club Makes Significant Donation to Nevis COVID-19 Task Force

The Nevis Masters Cricket Club, made a significant donation to the Nevis COVID -19 Task Force, on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

The donation was made by Mr. Curtis Morton, a member of the club to Mr. Brian Dyer, the Director of the Nevis Disaster Office.

In making the presentation, Morton noted that the annual Leeward Islands Masters’ Cricket tournament, was originally slated to take place this weekend in St. Kitts.  However, it had to be cancelled due to the ongoing corona pandemic.

He stated that the Nevis team was hoping to regain championship honours this year, but will have to wait until next year.

In the interim, the club decided not to just sit idly by but made arrangements to assist the Covid -19 task Force in its endeavours to fight the deadly scourge.

He further applauded the Taskforce and the front line workers for the sacrificial work they would have done so far.  He also thanked the entire Masters’ Cricket family for ensuring that the donation became a reality but singled out Manager Oscar ASTRO Browne, President Franklyn KUT Daniel and Curleanne Liburd, for coordinating the effort.

He then presented four cases of hand sanitizers to Mr. Dyer- a total of 96.

In accepting the gift, Mr. Dyer pointed out that it was a timely gesture and stated that they will put into immediate use.

He also wished the Masters’ team every success in the endeavour to regain the championship trophy and thanked them for the meaningful donation.
