BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — The Ministry of Health is deeply saddened to confirm the death of a patient at the Accident & Emergency Department of the Joseph N. France General Hospital on October 12, 2026.
On behalf of the Ministry and hospital leadership, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this loss.
The Ministry is aware of an audio recording currently circulating regarding this incident.
A preliminary report from hospital authorities has been received, and a full, thorough investigation is underway to establish all surrounding facts.
In accordance with standard procedure, a post-mortem examination will be conducted under the direction of the Coroner to determine the official cause of death.
Representatives from both the Ministry of Health and hospital administration have met directly with the family to provide an update.
