Miss Dominica Leslassa Armour-Shillingford proves she is a boss in pageantry

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Beauty, talent and class were displayed at the Nevis Cultural Complex on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the hosting of the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant as part of Culturama 2013.

The show which is now in its eight year, triggered lots of excitement. Persons who attended were mesmerized and hypnotized by the performances executed by the contestants. It was indeed a difficult task for the judges as different cultures and unique talents were exhibited and performed on stage.

However, at the end of it all, Leslassa Armour-Shillingford, Dominica’s representative outshone and outperformed her 10 other competitors and captured the crown of Miss Caribbean Culture 2013. She also won the best interview segment.

First runner up went to Miss St. Kitts, Zinga Imo. She won two categories, best swimwear and best evening wear.

Miss St. Croix (USVI), A’Jada Burke took the second runner-up position. She was adjudged winner of the talent segment. Her beautiful performance received a standing ovation from the crowd. She was also awarded the prize for Miss Photogenic.

Filamena Day, Miss St. Lucia came in Third position while our very own Miss Nevis, Denesia Smithen came in fourth.

The other contestants were: Miss Curacao, Jurnalis Henson; Miss Dominican Republic, Rosa Martinez; Miss Montserrat, Kadija Furlonge; Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Karla Gellizeau; Miss Guyana, Faydeha King, and Miss Anguilla, Taitu Goodwin.

Nevispages understands that this was the third win for the 19 year old Armour-Shillingford in pageants outside of her homeland. She recently won the Miss Jaycees Queen Show which was held in Antigua on August 2, 2013.
