Record-breaking midfielder Joe Willock’s move to English Premier League club Newcastle United from rivals Arsenal in a six-year deal worth a reported £25 million (US$34.6 million) was completed on August 13th.

Willock, 21, who is eligible to represent Caribbean Football Union side Montserrat, scored eight times while on loan from the Gunners last season – including seven goals in his final seven matches – and will now have to wait to kick off his second spell with the Magpies away to Aston Villa.

Willock has two brothers, Chris and Matty, who also play in England. Matty made his debut for Montserrat in June.

After Arsenal ruled out another loan deal, the Newcastle hierarchy successfully negotiated a permanent transfer which sees Willock become the club’s second-most expensive signing of all time behind Brazilian forward Joe Linton.
