Naomi –Fondly Remembered

Gingerland-Nevis –Real name: Ruth Naomi Daniel –Browne. However, most persons in Nevis would have fond memories of a certain Naomi Daniel.
That is in direct reference to the amicable, beautiful Teacher, who once made her impact on the education system in Nevis.
After graduating from the Teachers’ Training College in St. Kitts, she took up the employment that she loved– Teaching.
She taught with much success at the Gingerland Primary School.
She left her beloved island in the year 2000, to complete her BSc in Education at the Midwestern University in Texas.
She later obtained a job as a teacher and migrated to Maryland, to live with her sister Jasmine.
There she excelled as a teacher as well, at the Pointer Ridge Elementary School in Bowie Maryland.
In the year 2015, she was awarded the excellence in education award from the White House and Congress, for the city of Bowie.
She maintained her links with her family members and friends in Nevis and became actively involved with the Nevisian Association of Washington DC.
She got married to Alphonso Browne in 2006.
She was actively involved in planning important events, just days prior to her death and her sudden passing, came as a great shock to all who loved her.

A memorial service was held in her honour on Saturday June 29th at the Rockville Church of God of Prophecy, in the United States of America and the official funeral service was held at the Gingerland Methodist Church, on Saturday 6th July.
There was a large turnout of persons who had only fond memories of her.
The officiating Ministers were: Rev. Wendell Samuel; Pastor John freeman and Bishop Stephen Liburd.
