Charlestown-Nevis—President and founder of the Pink Lily Cancer Care Association, Mrs. Lea Parris, was beaming on Tuesday 13th October as she gratefully accepted a cheque from Director of the Nevis Cooperative Credit Union Board, Mrs. Cherryl Barrett- Field.
Mrs. Fields in making the presentation noted that she was really pleased to note that someone has led out in looking out for persons diagnosed with cancer, on Nevis, as so many persons are being affected by the dreaded disease.
She warmly congratulated the Pink Lily Association for their tremendous work and urged them to continue to look out for persons affected.
She noted that the generous donation was given as a part of the celebration of International Credit Union month.
Mrs. Parris in accepting the cheque pointed out that her organization operates on the mantra: ‘Early detection saves lives.’ Hence, a lot of emphasis is placed on education and prevention.
She stated that her organization is a charitable organization that focuses on support, care, spiritual assistance and tangible contributions to persons affected by the disease.
She thanked the NCCU for their timely contribution towards the worthy caused and wished them every success in their future endeavours.
Also present at the ceremony which was chaired by Mr. Ken Williams, were: Miss Patulia Huggins; Mr. Rene Smithen and Miss O’Larry Lescott.
