On January 29, several distinguished individuals across the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis were honoured with the Companion of the Star of Merit, one of the nation’s prestigious awards.
Among the awardees was Lydia Thompson Claxton, an outstanding former Nevisian netballer and former captain of the West Indies Netball Team.
In reflecting on the honour, Claxton expressed gratitude and said she was deeply humbled to receive the award. She noted that the recognition was both meaningful and encouraging.
Offering words of advice to aspiring young netballers throughout the Federation, Claxton emphasised that reaching the top requires hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. She encouraged athletes to remain focused and committed to their goals.
She also extended best wishes to the Federation’s Under-17 netball team as they prepare for an upcoming regional tournament.
