The Nevis Cricket Association has announced the suspension of all matches in the T20 competition until further notice due to the following reasons:
1. The Republic Bank 5 for Fun event will be held on June 14th at ETW.
2. The NCA will host the Leeward Islands U19 boys’ camp from June 21st to 29th.
3. The NCA will also host the Leeward Islands U19 girls’ camp from June 29th to July 5th.
4. Eight matches in the West Indies U19 tournament will take place from July 3rd to 24th.
5. ETW Park will be closed to the public for upgrades in preparation for the West Indies U19 matches.
The management team of the NCA faces significant challenges in managing all of these events while continuing the league as scheduled. However, we are encouraged that Nevis has been allowed to host the West Indies U19 matches, especially since the tournament will be held in St. Kitts and Nevis for the next three years. If we fulfil our hosting duties successfully, we can use this experience to request more regional matches, including women’s matches, as well as a return to hosting regional male First Class and One Day matches.
