NEVIS CRICKETING ICON WILLET HOSPITALIZED

CHARLESTOWN NEVIS February 21- Elquemedo Tonito Willet, the first Leeward Islander to make it into the West Indies senior Cricket team, was hospitalized, late Tuesday afternoon-20th February.

Coincidentally, Willet was at the very Park named in his honour, where he was officiating at the annual sports meet of the Charlestown Secondary School, when he unfortunately fell from the officials’ stand.

Medical personnel and members of the Red Cross, rushed to his aid and he was later transported to the Alexandra hospital for treatment.

His dear wife Sandra, sons, daughters and other family members were also on hand, as they were all enjoying the sports meet.

Up to press time, his condition was unknown, but it is understood that he was conscious and talking.

Members of the general public are kindly asked to remember this Nevisian hero, in their prayers.
