At the swearing in ceremony for the brand new Nevis Island Administration, which was held on Sunday 24th December, a new Minister of Sports, was sworn into office.
Previous Minister of Sports and now Nevis’ fourth Premier, Hon. Mark Brantley, passed on the baton of responsibility for this important Ministry to the Hon. Eric Rohan Evelyn, who is a new comer in terms of the political world but has successfully led the very active and prolific Empire Sports club for quite a number of years, as President.
In the former administrative set up, Hon. Hazel Brandy –Williams, had hands on dealings with the Ministry, as Junior Minister, but she has been entrusted with other portfolios.
The new Sports Minister, also has responsibility for Culture, Youth, Community Development, Telecommunications and Information.
