CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS — October 5, 2026 — On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) extends its warmest greetings, deepest gratitude, and heartfelt appreciation to all educators across Nevis.
Under the banner of “Working Together for a Better Nevis,” the NIA honours the vital role that teachers play in guiding youth, elevating education, and strengthening the island’s future.
This year’s observance aligns with the theme: “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures.
In a message delivered on behalf of the administration, Hon. U. Troy Liburd emphasised the foundational values that define the teaching community:
Dedication: Recognising educators for their unwavering commitment to educating and empowering children every day
Inspiration: Celebrating how teachers nurture potential, instil confidence, and open doors of opportunity for the next generation.
Appreciation: Honouring teachers’ selfless service and the lasting positive impact they leave on students and society as a whole. “Our educators are the cornerstone of our community,” stated Hon. U. Troy Liburd.
“As we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, we reaffirm our commitment to standing with our teachers—honouring their service, supporting their profession, and celebrating their profound impact on Nevis.”
The Nevis Island Administration continues to support initiatives aimed at advancing the teaching profession, fostering educational growth, and ensuring teachers have the resources necessary to continue shaping bright futures for all students across the island.
