Tonight, Nevisians are mourning the passing of one of its most colorful characters Mr. Walter ‘Jam Dem’ Wallace.
‘Jam Dem’ passed away today, Monday, March 05, 2018 at the Alexandra Hospital.
The popular personality was well known throughout the island and had been a daily staple in the Charlestown, the capital of Nevis.
Locals and visitors alike all enjoyed his singing and the music he generated from old bottles. He also used local flowers and shrubbery to beautify the lamp poles around Charlestown.
Such a local icon was ‘Jam Dem’, that Nevis’ artist extraordinaire, Mr. Vaugh Anslyn immortalized him in one of his many paintings.
The people of Nevis will miss ‘Jam Dem’, and this media house extends sincerest condolences to his bereaved family and friends.
