BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — Nevis Pages extends its warmest congratulations to standout track and field athlete Akanye Samuel Francis, who departed the Federation on Saturday to begin his collegiate career at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Athletic Achievements & Milestones
Historic CARIFTA Legacy: Francis is the only athlete from St. Kitts and Nevis to earn a medal in a hurdle event at the CARIFTA Games, securing podium finishes on three occasions.
National Record Holder: He enters the collegiate circuit as the current national junior record holder in the 400-meter hurdles.
Highly Recruited Talent: Following significant interest from top international athletics programs, Francis officially committed his talents to the Eagles at Coppin State University, an NCAA Division I historically Black university (HBCU).
