At approximately 2:30 PM on August 20th, 2023, five armed assailants attempted to rob Ram’s Supermarket on Nevis.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the assailants attacked the security guard with an umbrella and attempted to rob the cash tills.
As they were unable to access the tills, the robbers fled the scene in a vehicle they stole from a customer who was entering the supermarket.
The stolen vehicle was abandoned by the robbers and recovered by Police at Long Point.
Shortly after receiving the robbery reports, Police pursued a vehicle with four suspects in the Brown Hill area.
During the chase, the vehicle crashed into a wall and one suspect fled the scene on foot.
The other three suspects were taken into Police custody.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing and we will continue to update the general public accordingly.
