Nevis Unscathed

Charlestown-Nevis-Manager at the Disaster Preparedness office on Nevis, Mr. Brian Dyer, on Friday 28th August, confirmed that Nevis was virtually unscathed after the passage of Tropical storm Erika.
According to Dyer, there were wind gusts up to approximately 35 miles per hour.
Nevis also received some much needed rainfall which commenced from about 2pm and went on steadily throughout the night until about 9pm.
He further indicated that the storm passed about 100 miles south of St.Kitts and Nevis.
The people of the Federation of St.Kitts and Nevis can give God thanks and praise because the people of Dominica are not so fortunate today, as they are in the process of seeking to recover from major damage caused by the storm and that island is also in mourning, having suffered at least four deaths.
Dyer also noted that there were a few reports pertaining to electrical lines but to the best of his knowledge; those concerns were already taken care of by NEVLEC.
