Nevis Wins Two and Lose One

The Nevis team has had mixed fortunes in the ongoing Leeward Islands fifty overs competition thus far.
On Friday 22nd April, the team travelled to Warner Park in St.Kitts where they engaged the USVI team. USVI won the toss and batted first and could only get to 89 all out, with Cruikshank getting a half a ton and Jason Campbell bagging a fiver. Adelvin Phillip collected two wickets and so too, did captain Kieran Powell.
Nevis easily acquired the runs-90 for 2 at the close with Tonito Willet 53* and Ross Powell 20*
On Saturday 22nd April, the Montserrat team stunned the Nevisians in front of their home crowd at the ETW.
Montserrat scored 179 and the Nevis team was bowled out just short of the required target. Tonito Willet was the outstanding batsman with his half century.
On Sunday 24th April, the Nevis team bounced back to win at the ET Willet Park.
Anguilla batted first and after an impressive start by Lyndell Richardson and West Indies under 19 opener, Kacey Carty, fell into a bit of a rut and lost some important quick wickets, including those of Montcin Hodge and captain Jahmar Hamilton.
However, a late rally saw them to a competitive 180 all out. Jason Campbell bowled impressively for his 3 wickets and Adelvin Phillip also bagged 3 as well.
Nevis lost 6 wickets in the successful run chase, winning by 6 wickets, with Ross Powell scoring a well played half century and figuring in a significant partnership with the inform Tonito Willet.
