New Look Villa Grounds- Initiative of Hon. Hazel Brandy Williams

Charlestown-Nevis- The new look of the renovated Charlestown Secondary School’s grounds, better known as the VILLA, is an initiative of the Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, Minister of Social Development in the Nevis Island Administration.
This was confirmed on Thursday 17th March when a progress report was given by Project manager, Mr. Michael Perkins. He thanked the honourable Minister for the initiative, which in effect, not only enhanced the general outlook of the premises, but also provided employment for a few contractors and several ‘at risk youths.’
In giving details as regards the improvement to the area, Mr. Perkins noted that the area has been properly fenced, including a stone wall; installation of gateways and a beautifully constructed bar, which he noted will be utilized as a multi faceted building, for example gazebo; meeting place etc.
Minister Brandy-Williams thanked all of the major stakeholders who helped to make her dream of enhamcing the property, a reality. She noted that the grounds was widely utilized by nationals and non nationals alike and needed a face lift.
She opined that it will be even more widely utilized in the future and asked everyone to take great care of the facilities.
Also adding their voices to the proceedings were contractors, Dale Claxton who noted that he was resposnsible for the erection of the stone wall and the general fencing and Irvin Grant, whose main task it was to construct the bar.
Both had high words of commendation for Minister Brandy-Williams, Mr. Perkins and the Nevis Island Adminsitraion, in general.
