New Zealand’s Special Envoy visits St. Kitts and Nevis

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 4TH 2014 (CUOPM) – A Special Envoy of New Zealand’s Prime Minister has begun a five-day visit to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sir Donald Charles “Don” McKinnon, leads a five-member delegation, which on Friday morning called on Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, the Hon. Dr. Earl Asim Martin.

Mr. McKinnon, who served as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations from 2000 until 2008, will meet with St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas on Saturday at the Office of the Prime Minister at Government Headquarters on Church Street.

The New Zealand Envoy will use the opportunity to present to Prime Minister Douglas, New Zealand’s High Commissioner-designate Mrs. Jan Henderson.

Other members of the delegation are First Secretary Mr. Anthony Simpson, police officer Mr. Michael Zhang and Policy Officer Ms. Natalie White.
