One Bill will receive its first reading, while two are slated for second reading. The government’s good governance legislative agenda continues as it commits itself to transparency, accountability and the Rule of Law.
The Honourable Acting Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Education, Youth Empowerment, Housing and Human Settlement, Ecclesiastical and Faith-Based Affairs, Social Development, Gender Affairs, Ageing and Disabilities, Finance, Health and Human Resource Management and Social Security, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time the Bill entitled Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
Acting Prime Minister Dr Hanley will then move the second reading of the Bills Payment Systems and Services Bill, 2026, and Liquor Licence (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Both Bills had their first reading on July 30, 2026.
The National Assembly will be broadcast live on ZIZ Radio (96 FM) and participating radio stations. It can also be viewed live on TV Channel 5 in St. Kitts and Channel 98 in Nevis. It will also be streamed live at www.zizonline.com.
