One charged for Venezuelan Embassy Fire

(BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS)- The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has informed that one Lodge Project resident, Andrew ‘Cheeko’ Wilson has been formally arrested and charged in connection with the fire which consumed the building that housed the Venezuelan Embassy on St. Kitts.

The Criminal Investigation Department carried out an intense investigation on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. The thirty-seven year old, who resides at Phillip’s Village was formally arrested and charged for the offences of arson and malicious damage.

The Embassy which was located at Wigley Avenue, Fortlands, Basseterre was completely gutted on Sunday, January 5, 2014. The evidence that was discovered at the scene, left officials to suspect that it was arson.
